MEDEARTS Amman

MedeArts (The City-Artists Network Association) is an arts development network founded in 2015 by a group of young artists, cultural managers, and architects based in Jordan. It focuses on supporting cultural and artistic activities across cities and governorates in Jordan, with particular attention to towns and villages in the north. MedeArts aims to promote cultural exchange, professionalize artistic content, and create platforms for collaboration among both professional and amateur artists. The network is particularly significant in northern Jordan, where opportunities for artistic expression are limited, and where the population includes diverse communities, including many refugees.

Safi Sakran plays a crucial role associated with MedeArts as a cultural activist and artist engaged in advancing the network’s mission. Through his work and collaborations, Safi supports MedeArts’ focus on creating safe spaces for artistic expression that promote social inclusion, cultural dialogue, and address issues such as gender-based violence and LGBTQ+ rights. His involvement exemplifies MedeArts’ dedication to using art as a tool for social change and fostering community resilience in a socially and politically complex context.

MedeArts contributed to the project’s processing and supported travelling artists to Join SEE DJERBA.
